CARING FOR YOUR ELEANOR BOLTON JEWELLERY
Cleaning: Small stains and spots can be removed by dabbing the area with a damp cloth or baby wipe, for larger marks the pieces can be dry cleaned.
Wrapped Yarn Necklaces with Magnetic clasps
Only handle the metal ends of the clasp to open and close the necklace. Pulling on the textile part will increase chance of moving the yarns and revealing the cord below and therefore damaging the necklace.
Wrapped Yarn bangles
Please take care when putting these on and off they are not stretchy.
Many pieces also contain metal elements which are made from gold or silver plated brass, sterling silver or stainless steel unless otherwise stated. Over time the metal may become dull or tarnished, to keep the metals bright and shiny polish with a soft jewellery cloth.
Plated jewellery may fade depending on wear and exposure to chemicals and cosmetics, to optimise its wear take care when handling plated jewellery to protect the layer of plate from excess wear and scratching. Avoid wearing plated jewellery whilst showering, bathing or swimming. Chlorine, in particular can permanently damage or discolour your gold plated jewellery.
Sterling silver jewellery can be polished with a soft jewellery polishing cloth or cleaned with warm soapy water if very dirty, however please ensure that it is rinsed thoroughly and dried before storing to avoid it tarnishing.
Avoid contact with water, cosmetics, perfumes and lotions. Jewellery should always be removed when applying perfume, cosmetics and lotions, these can stain the textiles and accelerate fading in plated jewellery.
Store your jewellery in a clean dry place away from direct sunlight. When stored please make sure to keep all jewellery in separate pouches or boxes to prevent pieces rubbing and catching against one another.
It is advisable to remove all jewellery when partaking in any physical or labour intensive activities. For this same reason, it is also advisable not to wear jewellery when asleep at night.
